AcePrep — Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

AcePrep ("we", "our", or "us") is a mobile application developed by BiteLearning that helps students prepare for standardised exams (SAT, GRE, GMAT, IELTS, LSAT, MCAT, ACT) through AI-powered bite-sized lessons and practice questions.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the AcePrep Android app, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using AcePrep you agree to the practices described here.

2. Information We Collect

Account information (Google Sign-In): When you sign in with Google we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google. This information is used solely to create and manage your AcePrep account.

Usage data: We record which exams and topics you study, lesson history, quiz scores, streaks, and points so we can personalise your learning experience and show you your progress.

Device information: Basic device data (OS version, device type) may be collected automatically to diagnose bugs and improve app performance. We do not collect precise location data.

Communications: If you contact us by email, we retain that correspondence to respond to your enquiry.

3. How We Use Your Information

• Create and manage your account
• Deliver personalised exam-prep lessons and practice questions
• Track your learning progress, streaks, and points
• Diagnose technical issues and improve the app
• Send important service updates (we do not send marketing emails without your consent)

4. Sharing Your Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share data only with the following service providers who help us operate AcePrep, and only to the extent necessary:

• Supabase — secure database and authentication infrastructure (data stored in the EU/US)
• Google OAuth — identity verification for sign-in
• AI content providers (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, Perplexity) — generate lesson content; no personal identifiers are sent to these providers
• Vercel — hosting for the web layer powering the app

We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account and learning data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by emailing us (see Section 9). We will action deletion requests within 30 days.

6. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), secure database access controls, and hashed credentials. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Children's Privacy

AcePrep is intended for users aged 13 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Users between 13 and 17 should use the app with parental awareness. AcePrep does not display targeted advertising.

8. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
• Object to or restrict certain processing
• Data portability (receive a copy of your data)
